Minutes of Committee Meeting of the Cedars Park Residents Association

Held at 5 Wren Close on Friday 15th September 2006 at 7.30 p.m.

Present

Roger Willison - Gray, David Winsley, Alan Tanner, Dick Downs, Frank Whittle, Kevin Stobbs, Colin Peall, David Cole, Martin Robinson, Rene Hillyer, Fred Hillyer, David Ruffley M.P. arrived after the meeting had started.

Roger opened the meeting and informed committee that he was not getting any response from Alan Newman S.C.C. or the police regarding matters we have raised with them.

Boy racers are still a problem on the estate. David Ruffley is going to write letters to people concerned he said when a M.P. gets involved it hastens things.

David Ruffley and Frank Whittle think that things are getting better in the planning department at M.S.C.C. in future all planning applications will go direct to them bypassing Stowmarket councillors.

The new school is up and running we are hoping to hold our full meetings their Fred is going to see Head Mistress regarding this.

Treasurers report.

A brief committee meeting was convened on 12th June 2006 at which the Chairperson, Secretary, and Treasurer were present. The sole purpose of this meeting was to pass resolutions relating to the conduct of the Associations Bank account. A copy of the resolutions agreed is attached to these minutes. We have £290 in our account at this moment £40 to be paid for last time we used Hall. £9 to be paid to John Matthisson for leaflets.

Any Other Business.

The committee agreed to campaign for a community centre on site this would be put to the residents at the next main meeting.

Fishing at the Lagoon is becoming a problem fishing line lead weights hooks and rubbish are being left, a Dog swallowed line and hook the vet bill for the operation was nearly £1000, verbal abuse is also being directed at people walking their dogs. Frank Whittle is going to deal with this.

The Express bus service from Cedars Park is to be cancelled from 1st of October going to get more information regarding this.

A speed limit of 20m.p.h. was suggested Alan thinks this would be impractical.

Alcohol ban wants to be extended to Cedars Park Dick going to write to Joanne Rogers to see if this was possible

A vote of thanks to John Mason for all his help with Printing

Planning permission for the Pub turned down on a 5 to 4 vote we think an appeal will be lodged.

Fred and Martin went to Molybdenum with Environmental officer regarding the noise from the factory we toured the site with the manager it appears they are doing there best to contain it they are putting in place a large earth mound to buffer the noise.

There was a complaint from a Creeting Road resident regarding Flats and social housing.

David Cole wants more information to put on Web site, talk about starting a Forum, requested for somebody to do editing of e-mails Alan Tanner volunteered to do this.

Optua rethink disability approached Alan Tanner to see if they could come to one of our meetings it was agreed and suggested they set up a stall so that people could see what they do.

Frank Whittle to talk to John Howard of E.A.D.T. about boy racers on the estate
