Plans have been lodged for phase 2 of the new 'village centre', between the school and the recently re-routed Creeting Road. On top of shops and a surgery, Crest intend to add 83 flats, creating five storeys in total! Worse still, with only 76 parking spaces, there's likely to be congestion, conflict, and accidents, as residents vie for space with shoppers, surgery visitors, and children arriving at school (not to mention the proposed community centre!)
The CPRA believes the scale of the proposal is out of proportion to the surrounding housing. So, we've collected around 150 objection letters which we've lodged with the Chief Planning Officer at Mid-Suffolk District Council. Watch this space!
