Fishing in the ponds around the estate is now being controlled by Environment Agency inspectors: Anyone over the age of 12 needs a rod licence, and failure to produce one carries a maximum fine of £2500! Councillor Frank Whittle made the necessary arrangements following residents' compliants about discarded fishing tackle, and verbal abuse, around the large pond.
