Despite assurances from Mid Suffolk District Council and Crest Nicholson that Cedars Park would have a Doctors Surgery or Health Centre we have learned today that it is highly unlikely that there will be any healthcare services located on Cedars Park. A letter received from Ms Mary Goode, Assistant Director of Estates for Suffolk Primary Care Trust states that they will not support a third practice in Stowmarket. This means added pressure on both Combs Ford and Violet Hill surgeries. Parking is already a problem at these locations and when Cedars Park is completed there will be an addition 2000 patients registering who will mostly have to drive as there is no public transport serving Cedars Park and the health centres.
If you are concerned about this you should contact your Member of Parliament Mr David Ruffley as the NHS is not governed by local authorities
