After a meeting between the CPRA and officials from Suffolk County Council the following improvements to Kestral Drive and the Distributor road have been agreed
Kestrel Drive (East to West)
- After Tesco's service access but before Swallow Drive a sign need to be erected indicating that the road is not suitable for HGV's.
Distributor Road (East to West)
- General - erect 4 "Kill you Speed" signs (2 in each direction at locations agreed).
- At the bus stop after the Tesco access roundabout the verge needs to have a 3m wide concrete hardstanding to enable passengers to wait and alight the bus without walking on the grass verge.
- At the first road crossing point to the balancing pond open space area, between the Tesco roundabout and Linnet Drive provide a Toucan Crossing. The design is underway and full drawings are expected shortly.
- At three locations southbound from the development where the cycleway/Footway meet the Distributor Road Cycleway/Footway at a downhill gradient erect staggered barriers.
- At the layby opposite Woodpecker Close a suitable means of preventing overnight parking to be provided possibly by a central kerbed build-out with planter or similar landscape feature. The details will have to be agreed between SCC and Crest before construction.
- At Woodpecker Close erect central post (as per the existing posts) to prevent inappropriate vehicle use.
- At each end of the lozenge island crossing provide pedestrian barriers (min 500mm clearance from kerb).
- At the western end (towards Tomo) at the dropped kerb crossing make good the temporary surface as soon as possible and provide a barrier at the rear of the footway on the south side to prevent pedestrians falling into the deep ditch.
